Black History

As we come to the close of another black history month we would be remiss not to write an article about it. With all the celebrations and ceremonies that takes place, very few people deal with our true history (if they even know it) and address the ills that plagues us as a people and what we need to do to become those beloved people in the eyes of the Lord, like how our fore-parents were.

Contrary to what is widely taught, black history does not begin with slavery or us living like savages when we were dispersed in Africa.

It is important to note that the bible does not deal with color such as white or black, when classifying people. It deals with specific families. Each one of us has a progenitor that can be traced back to the bible. It could probably take one hundred or more pages to deal with each progenitor, so for the purposes of this article we will deal with Israel that the bible mentions. Israel is not referring to the land that we know today, but rather a race of people that started with Abraham, also commonly referred to as the twelve tribes of Israel.

Acts 7:8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs[the twelve tribes].

The Lord solely dealt with the Israelites and made a covenant with them, wherein he gave his commandments, such as the ten that everybody knows about, and told them that if they kept the commandments they would inherit the promise land of Jerusalem and everything would be all good.

Deuteronomy 28:1, 2, 8[when Moses was dealing with the Israelites right before they went into the promise land] 1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

The Israelites at some point in their history in that land, kept the commandments but more often, did not keep them and dealt in wickedness with the Lord and each other.

Because the Lord knows all things before they even happen, he gave us warning of what would happen when we broke his commandments.

Deuteronomy 28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

He then gives the curses from verse 15 on down in Deuteronomy 28. When you read the curses and follow the history closely in the bible, you begin to see that a recurring curse for the Israelites was captivity (slavery). It is time consuming to compact a whole nation’s history into one blog article so we will focus on one specific curse that relates to us in these last days.

Deuteronomy 4:25-27 When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger: 26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed. 27 And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you. [Ever wondered why we’re considered minorities] 30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the LATTER days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

The Lord told us that we would be scattered all over the world through slavery and wherever we are at, we would face tribulations-things like last hired first fired, police brutality and injustice, being severely whipped, battered and bruised during slavery, racism from people that hate us and the list could go on.

When we think about black history, most of us confine it to the Americas, however, as the Lord stated, we would be scattered among all nations-meaning literally all over the world. Ever hear the saying, “man black people are everywhere.”

Check out the following video on black people in Iraq, which a lot of people don’t even know about. Pay attention to how they got there and their current conditions.

Sounds very much like the curse to me that the Lord said would happen to the Israelites in the last days-which we’re living in right now.

Black history is knowing where we came from and what we did and continue to do to get the bad treatment that we’re getting. It goes without say that we have the highest murder rate amongst each other,

make up a very large percent of the prison system, the most sexually active people-and we glorify it.

As stated before, the Lord knows all things before they happen and he prophesied throughout the entire Old Testament about the coming of his son and that he would redeem us back to him if we followed his examples and do what he told us.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

The way how Christ is saving us from our sins is that he showed us how to develop God-fearing minds where we would apply the commandments in everything we do. So whether it be in relationships, he told us that the right way is for a man and a woman to be married (Mark 10:6-8) and not sleeping around, getting women pregnant and not even knowing that you have a child or even care to take care of them if you do know about them. And these are some of the sins that black people continue to commit; being some of the worse whores and whoremongers.

Christ taught us to repent from these things.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

When we repent from our sins and live godly we’ll then be those special people in the eyes of the Lord and not get the bad treatments that we get or even being referred to as “black people” as black denotes a color.

1 Peter 2:9-11 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
