Dr. Umar Johnson

Dr. Umar Johnson is a Pan-Africanist and a highly motivational and informational speaker. Trained as a certified school psychologist he’s considered an expert on learning disabilities and their effect on black children. He’s been doing quite a few speaking engagements throughout the country and the world.

Through his speaking engagements he’s been collecting funds to acquire a school where black children can have a place to learn, not just academics but also other aspects of life. His videos can be seen all over YouTube, and in a Facebook post he says that he was very close to getting a large sum of money from an athlete until a scandal broke out about him.

The scandal involves him allegedly having a sexual relationship with a stripper which was documented across several text messages.

Dr. Johnson claims that Some of the text messages are true and others fabricated.

Because of this scandal many people have left off from following him and quite a few people were disappointed, with some people commenting that we need better black leaders.

Let’s start off by saying that the ONLY person that we should look to as our leader and listen to is Jesus Christ.

Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. (this is talking about Jesus Christ)

Isaiah 55:4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. (this is a prophecy about Jesus Christ)

Most people want to have a physical person that they can see and follow. In this time especially, with all the police brutalities and civil unrest that’s been happening, a lot of people are looking for answers and most people are like sheep-they want to be led. But we will get disappointed every single time if we put our trust in men.

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.

Jesus Christ was chosen as our leader by the Most High God and his teachings were left for us to follow, even unto this day and they can be found in the bible. His teachings are still relevant today and can be applied to every aspect of our lives. Jesus Christ showed us the way on how we are supposed to live and conduct ourselves and told us that a blessing will accompany those that do that.

Revelation 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

The problem with Dr. Umar Johnson and other influential blacks that people love to listen to is that they don’t speak according to the word of God which is right.

Psalm 33:4 For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Instead they speak according to their own minds and according to the wisdom of this world, which will lead us nowhere if we follow their advice.

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles[word] of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

In one of his seminars he talks about some of the things that he would teach the children in the school that he wants to purchase. He mentioned farming, teaching black girls to embrace their natural hair, etc. and one of the other things he mentioned was teaching them voodoo.

Yes you read that right, voodoo.

When there was a ruffle from the audience when he mentioned voodoo, he stated that the audience was just going by what they heard about voodoo and that they didn’t know there was another side to it [a good side].

This is a common excuse used by people that practice voodoo-they usually say that the voodoo that they’re doing is not the type condemned by the bible but that there’s a good side to it-which is what they’re doing.

This is wrong any which way you look at it.

There’s no good side to voodoo and anyone who practices it will be punished with death unless they repent, plain and simple.

You can read Exodus 22:18, Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12 and Revelation 22:14-15 to find out about that.

It was also because of us doing the sin of witchcraft (voodoo) amongst other sins, that caused the Lord to punish us with captivity and the conditions that we’re suffering today. So why would we want to commit a sin that caused the Lord to be angry with us in the first place?

Be careful who you listen to and are influenced by or consider a black leader because we only have one leader that is still alive who we should follow and that is Jesus Christ.

Check out our video that goes more in depth on this topic because some people will try to argue that Jesus is dead and we need someone else to follow. The video addresses this in more depth.
