Halloween

Halloween

As we approach another Halloween a lot of people will be going out celebrating this day and also having their children take part in trick or treat and other activities that are associated with Halloween.

But should we celebrate Halloween or have our children take part in any of the activities associated with this day?

No.

Halloween is steeped in wicked idolatrous practices that the Lord told us not to partake in.

When you look at some of the things that are associated with Halloween such as, witches, dealing with the dead (necromancer) and child sacrifices (yes you read that right) that some occults do. The bible clearly speaks against these things and that we’re not supposed to be involved with them and they are very detestable in the eyes of the Lord.

Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

In these days and times we would not put someone to death for being a witch because Christ has come and is giving everyone a chance to repent from their sins and those that don’t repent when he returns the second time he’ll be the one putting people to death.

Leviticus 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 18:10-13 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

13 Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.

Some people argue that they can “clean up Halloween” by calling it Jesus Ween or having activities in a church building for the kids so that they don’t have to go out trick or treating.

The things that are associated with Halloween are considered “darkness (wickedness)” by the scriptures.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Jesus Christ is the light of the world according to John 8:12 so the scripture is telling us that there can be no fellowship with Christ and darkness. You cannot mix the two together or say that you’re going to clean it up by adding Christ to it.

In conclusion, we should not celebrate Halloween nor have our children take part in any of the activities associated with this day.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
