WHERE ARE THE BLACK FATHERS?????

About 30% of children in the United States grow up without their father in the house. Approximately 50% of minority marriages end in divorce. Statistics show that this has a devastating effect on our community. Why is this occurring? How can this be changed? Is there a Biblical answer?

To understand why this is happening within our community, we have to start with the root cause of the problem…

Deuteronomy 28:15But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:”

When you look at the condition of our people in the United States and throughout the world, they are NOT in a blessed condition. This happened because we have broken the Lord’s commandments and refused to repent! Therefore, the curses fell upon us. These curses are manifest in the suffering of our families and communities. So what are the Curses that destroyed our families and where are the Fathers?

They are in prison:

They are in the grave:

They are in sin:

These scriptures explain that because we did not obey the commandments of God, our fathers would be killed, imprisoned or fall so far into sin that they would even depart from their own children. But are we destined to remain in this cursed state? The answer is no! We must repent, follow the commandments as they are written in the Bible, and establish our families according to the scriptures.

image3In the book of Genesis, the Heavenly Father provides the righteous example of Abraham for a perpetual example of how to govern our households. Genesis 18:19 For I know him (Abraham), that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

1st Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

The Heavenly Father is commanding our men to repent and return to the teachings of the Bible in the spirit of Christ. This means he MUST leave off from fornication, idolatry, violence and any other sin which prevents him from being a righteous example in the sight of God and his family.
