The Marvel Cinematic Universe recently added a new caped hero to the big screen; Doctor Strange aka “The Sorcerer Supreme”. While the topic of sorcery and magic is very common in cinema as it relates to various works of fantasy and fiction, for young Jaden Smith it represents something far more tangible. After attending the movie and seeing Doctor Strange, “The Sorcerer Supreme” in action, young Jaden believes he has found his calling in the mystic arts. Some may remember that he once claimed to have been a vampire in his adolescent years but he has apparently graduated to new degrees of insanity with the following tweet earlier this week.
Many have seen these comments as more absurdity from a young man who clearly took a work of fiction way too seriously. But for those of us who believe and know the truth of the Holy Bible, a far more disturbing truth is revealed.
Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
Throughout the scriptures there are numerous references and prohibitions against witchcraft, sorcery and the mystic arts in general. So much so that even the study and inquiry concerning them was forbidden as recorded in the book of Acts Chapter 19.
Acts 19:19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
These prohibitions were not written to protect against Hollywood special effects and a make believe doctrine, but against a true and tangible Satanic power at work in this world.
Jeremiah 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
The true tragedy of this story is that young Jaden Smith would be so willing to devote his life to the so-called mystic arts after seeing a movie but continue to openly reject Jesus Christ who’s mighty works are seen daily. But as the prophet Jeremiah accurately foretold, the children of God are wise to do evil but have no knowledge of good.
For those who may be practicing or curious about magic and the mystic arts, we urge you to take heed to the warning of the prophet Isaiah below and repent of your wicked works.
Isaiah 47:11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know. 12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. 13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
