The young man was charged with two counts of aggravated arson and vandalism by placing a can of gasoline by the building and igniting it.

For years growing up, I have personally heard anti-government sentiments from many Israelites groups. However, as our understanding grew, we understood that it isn’t about trying to overthrow anybody, as the Most High God starts and ends kingdoms. Christ explains this to the disciples in the verse below…

Acts 1:6  When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Christ explained to the disciples that it isn’t in our power to know when these gentile pagan kingdoms will fall and usher in the kingdom for Israel. However, we should be concerned with teaching the gospel of repentance to the 12 Tribes scattered abroad.

Definition of Zealot (according to Wikipedia)- originally a political movement in 1st century Second Temple Judaism which sought to incite the people of Judaea Province to rebel against the Roman Empire and expel it from the Holy Land by force of arms.

The Zealots were groups of Israelites who banned together to overthrow the Roman government, sometimes by violence and murder.

But according to the Bible, are our people supposed to be engaging in taking down the government, burning down government buildings, killing government officials, etc.?

Titus 3:1Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, also read Romans 13:1

The scriptures instructs us that not only shouldn’t we try to overthrow the government, but we should also obey their laws…granted if those laws don’t contradict the Heavenly Father’s commandments. For example, obeying traffic laws in this land isn’t wrong. On the flip side, if this land make laws to worship other gods, then as servants of the Most High, we are not obligated to follow that because that violate the 1st and 2nd commandments of God. You don’t see any example of Christ, the apostles, or even the prophets of old attempting to overthrow the kingdoms in which they lived in. The prophet Jeremiah throughout the whole book of Jeremiah, told Israel that they would go into captivity under the Babylonians, therefore not only should Israel obey the Babylonian laws but Israel should pray for the peace of Babylon and live peacefully in the land, read Jeremiah 29:4-7.

What we seem to forget time and time again even as some who have woken up to the knowledge that they are Israelites is that the Most High set up these unjust kingdoms because of our disobedience, read Deuteronomy 28:47-48. It is out of order for us to burn and take down anything because the Most High set up and bring down kingdoms, not us! Therefore, it is imperative that we obey the laws of the land as well as the laws of the Most High and Christ.

I Timothy 2:1-2I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Also we are to pray for the kings and rulers in authority, not because they are holy and righteous, but because the peace of the land means that we can live peacefully enough to follow the Most High and Christ quietly.

Luke 3:14…..Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

If any our people want to overthrow the government, the Most High will not be with you.

Acts 5:36For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Throughout history our people always wanted to overthrow the governments that oppressed them. Each time, our people were shut down because the Most High determines the rise and fall of kingdoms. The Most High will also determine when the TRUE Israelites will be restored back to their homeland, not us. For now, we have to repent and keep and commandment of our God so it may go well with us in our captivity. Shalam!
