Miracle of Friendship Allows Blind and Deaf Man to Experience World Cup Soccer!

Exodus 4:11
And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?

When Jesus walked the face of the Earth he performed many miracles, signs and wonders. Some of the more notable works being the restoration of sight to the blind and of hearing to the deaf. And although we are now over 2000 years removed from those times, one man proves that when love, kindness and compassion are put into action miracles can and do still happen.

Brazilian native Carlos Junior was born deaf and lost his sight at 17 years old due to a rare genetic disease. Despite living in complete darkness and silence, Carlos found a new way to see and hear again with the help of his friend of ten years Renato Rodriques. In the now viral video we see Renato using a specialized form of signs, touches and props to create a unique sensory experience that allows Carlos to experience and feel the excitement of “World Cup” Soccer! We see Carlos’s unbridled joy as he celebrates each goal in real time, right along with the many thousands of fans watching worldwide. And we cannot help but to celebrate with him.

The world can be a cold and callous place. And for those suffering with a disability it can be far colder and more cruel. This is why the Heavenly Father gave commandment in the Holy Bible not to oppress those with disabilities.

Leviticus 19:14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord.

Despite this commandment, there are millions with disablitiies who suffer as outcasts in a society which will not tolerate nor accept them. They may not suffer physical abuse, but are still neglected and ostracized in many other ways.

This is why it was so heartwarming to many to see the bond between Carlos and Renato, and to know that the Heavenly Father is still granting sight to the blind and hearing to deaf.
