Newtown Sandy Hook School Shooting

First and foremost, our condolences go out to the families that were affected by this tragedy.

Once again another tragic shooting has left many people asking a lot of questions and trying to make sense out of what happened.

Regardless of the different debates and opinions that are given; whether it be gun control laws or the impact of violent games on children, the bottom line is the world that we live in is very evil and wicked and will become more evil and wicked the closer we get to the return of Christ and we should examine our lives to see how well we are living according to God’s commandments because we don’t know when death will come upon us.

Any one who believes in a higher power and letting his words dictate our lives will look to the bible for answers.

No one knows when our time to die will be but we do know that we will be judged according to the works that we did when we were alive. The Lord looks at all the things that we do in our lives. This even goes for children.

Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

The whole purpose of our lives is to live according to all the commandments that are written in the bible according to the examples left by Jesus Christ.

A part of doing the commandments is to also teach our children to keep the commandments.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

When a tragedy such as this takes place it should be a sober reminder of how wicked the world is and also how short our life is and no one knows when their time will come. These kids were just going about their every day routine, going to school-probably not even thinking that an incident such as that would take place.

When Jesus Christ walked the earth a tragic incident took place and some people came to him and told him about it

Luke 13:1-5 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Christ stressed the importance of us repenting from our sins and living a righteous life in the eyes of God so we don’t end up being perished in the end.
