Distraction: A thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else or extreme agitation of the mind or emotions.
In the world that we live in today, there are many distractions to get caught up in and it’s very easy to get all fired up about any and every issue that’s pushed through the media or gets circulated on social media.
Take for example, the Colin Kaepernick issue with some people now burning Nike sneakers because of the commercial that he did.
Or another example is the midterm election that’s coming up, how people are getting fired up over the different political parties and their specific issues.
People get emotionally charged when discussing these and other issues and spend their entire energy and time debating or getting emotionally charged up about them.
Should we be that way?
The answer unequivocally is no!
What should we spend all our time and energy on and getting emotionally charged up about?
Combating the wicked minds that we ALL have [read Genesis 6:5], repenting from our sins, always looking to see how we can serve the Lord better and preparing ourselves for the day of judgement.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
It’s easy to get caught up in the affairs of this life but Christ warned us not to.
Luke 21:34-36 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Let’s look at the definition of the word distraction again.
A thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else or extreme agitation of the mind or emotions.
Let’s look at some events that took place when Christ was on the earth, as the people that came to Christ in these scenarios fall into the above definition.
Luke 13:1-5 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. [So innocent people were killed by this Roman ruler]
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
These are easy distractions to get fired up about and to spend all your focus on the events and you see that Christ did not even go there. He instead focused on what really matters; us repenting from our sins and living more godly.
So today with all the foolishness that’s out there in the world,
like the Colin Kaepernick issue, the really foolish elections that are coming up or any other issues that people get fired up about, do they really matter in the grand scheme of things?
1 John 2:16-17 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Mark 2:27-28And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: (28) Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Misunderstood and underappreciated are the words that come to mind after reading Mark 2:27-28 while reflecting upon the beauty of the Sabbath Day. Do people really understand the blessing of the seventh day Sabbath? We labor Monday through Friday for 8 hours a day or more and then sit in traffic. Work, work travel and the work week routine takes a toll on our bodies but the Lord gave us something so we would be refreshed; the Sabbath.
Exodus 23:12Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
Exodus 20:8-11Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (9) Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: (10) But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: (11) For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
When we understand that the purpose of the Sabbath is to rest and be refreshed, then we understand how the other laws that pertain to the Sabbath help us in obtaining that respite. The Sabbath Day affords us the opportunity to rest from working, cooking, buying and selling. If the laws statutes and commandments were not in place, many people would work without ceasing and not take advantage of the rest that comes through keeping the commandments in Christ.
Exodus 35:3Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
This commandment shows that we are to rest from cooking on the Sabbath. Prepare your food before the Sabbath and take a break on the Sabbath Day.
Nehemiah 10:31And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day…
As commanded, we also take a break from buying and selling on the Sabbath Day so we can relax and take joy in the day. The Sabbath is also a day to ease our minds and focus on the Lord by gathering together and learning the scriptures. Christ taught in the synagogues on the Sabbath Day. We are to continue in learning about Christ every day and certainly on the Sabbath day as it is a commandment through the Heavenly Father even in these last days.
Leviticus 23:2-3Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. (3) Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
Luke 4:14-16And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. (15) And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. (16) And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Hebrews 10:24-25And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Isaiah 28:12To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
The Sabbath is the 7th day of the week. It begins Friday at dark to Saturday at dark. It was created for man so we can rest, relax and be refreshed. Don’t be like our forefathers that rejected the commandments and refused to keep the Sabbath. Learn the scriptures and partake of the delightful day that the Heavenly Father has created for his children!
Suicide has been on the rise with a great segment of our population having thought of it at one time or the other. With the recent deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain the topic is being more frequently discussed.
What’s the underlying factor in someone contemplating suicide?
There are many but one common factor is that they think that no one cares and they’ve had just about all that they can take and can’t take anymore.
True indeed that most people are selfish where they only think about themselves and what they’re going through and don’t care about anyone else – which is unfortunately the world that we’re living in today.
This may sound like a cliché but it’s true.
When no one else cares, he does.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Whatever it is that we’re going through we can always pray to him and ask him for help. This is what Christ did when he was walking on the earth.
If there’s anyone who experienced selfishness on an unimaginable scale, that would be Christ. If there’s anyone that had all about he could take, that would be Christ.
Isaiah 53:3 He [Christ] is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
When you’re acquainted with something, it means it don’t leave you, you’re always with it. So was Christ with grief. His example was to cast his care upon God because God cared for him. When you read though out the gospels, Christ consistently prayed to God and made sure that he was living according to the commandments so that God would never leave him in his time of trouble.
So if you’re thinking about committing suicide, don’t do it.
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
This commandment means ourselves also, not just killing someone else.
God has no pleasure in us dying, whether it is by our own hands or by someone else’s.
Ezekiel 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
He would rather have us live according to his commandments and depart when it’s his appointed time for us to leave this earth and not have us commit suicide.
We all feel the pressures of life from time to time, but taking our own lives is not the way to go.
Some of the greatest amongst us have wished for death before so this is not uncommon for people to feel this way.
Check out these examples
Jonah 4:1-3 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.
2 And he prayed unto the Lord, and said, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
3 Therefore now, O Lord, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
Check out what Moses said when he was feeling the pressure of dealing with all the Israelites. Numbers 11:14-15I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.
Check out what Job said when he was going through his many afflictions. Job 6:11 What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is mine end, that I should prolong my life?
Now these are all examples of the Old Testament and Jesus Christ is now our hope because he went through much worse than these men did and he told us that we would suffer things in this life but we can overcome them just like he did.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Exodus 4:11And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?
When Jesus walked the face of the Earth he performed many miracles, signs and wonders. Some of the more notable works being the restoration of sight to the blind and of hearing to the deaf. And although we are now over 2000 years removed from those times, one man proves that when love, kindness and compassion are put into action miracles can and do still happen.
Brazilian native Carlos Junior was born deaf and lost his sight at 17 years old due to a rare genetic disease. Despite living in complete darkness and silence, Carlos found a new way to see and hear again with the help of his friend of ten years Renato Rodriques. In the now viral video we see Renato using a specialized form of signs, touches and props to create a unique sensory experience that allows Carlos to experience and feel the excitement of “World Cup” Soccer! We see Carlos’s unbridled joy as he celebrates each goal in real time, right along with the many thousands of fans watching worldwide. And we cannot help but to celebrate with him.
The world can be a cold and callous place. And for those suffering with a disability it can be far colder and more cruel. This is why the Heavenly Father gave commandment in the Holy Bible not to oppress those with disabilities.
Leviticus 19:14Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord.
Despite this commandment, there are millions with disablitiies who suffer as outcasts in a society which will not tolerate nor accept them. They may not suffer physical abuse, but are still neglected and ostracized in many other ways.
This is why it was so heartwarming to many to see the bond between Carlos and Renato, and to know that the Heavenly Father is still granting sight to the blind and hearing to deaf.
James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well
Rom 12:10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
In today’s world we often hear terminology used to describe relationships which would have been hard to imagine just one generation ago. Phrases like swingers and open marriages along with hundreds of interchangeable variations of sexual and gender orientations make it nigh impossible for society to define the parameters of what IS and IS NOT morally acceptable behavior in a relationship. Fortunately for those who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and the words of the Holy Bible, morality is a fixed mark, unmoved by the ever changing whims and fashions of this world.
Hebrews 13:4Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
The scriptures affirm in many locations that the marriage of a Man and Woman in Christ is considered an honorable union. The scriptures also warn the righteous to abstain from all forms of fornication which are uplifted in this present world. Too often we are taught that these sins are acceptable alternatives from the traditional and “restrictive” ordinances of God. But for those overtaken in these errors, the desire for acceptance will often cause them to justify their behavior by creating the groundwork for new social norms and the eradication of Biblical values.
In one recent example that has recently resurfaced on social media, Christina and Benno Kaiser explain the unique dilemma that ended their 12 year marriage. Some years into their marriage and after the birth of their three children, Christina confessed to her husband that she was bi-sexual and wanted to introduce a second woman into their relationship. Although the prospect of a “ménage troi” or threesome is a powerful sexual fantasy for many men, those who are armed with the discretion of the scriptures know that such acts are not prudent and strictly forbidden in scripture.
Leviticus 18:18Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time. (Wife to her sister – meaning, it is forbidden to have sexual relationships with two women at one time – not necessarily two biological sisters)
For Benno Kaiser, his wife’s indecent proposal was too tempting to pass up and soon afterwards 21-year Sierra Kuntz became the 3rd party in the relationship. The Kaisers claim that their bond was so strong with their new young lover that the decision was made to divorce, thus allowing one of them to legally marry Kuntz, giving her legal claim to their 3 children. This brings us to the final observation made concerning this farce of a marriage, the effects on the children. Although the children appear to be well adjusted in a household with 3 loving parents; the true harm is realized in how this arrangement will forever alter their understanding of what the Heavenly Father intended marriage to be.
Matthew 19:5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Benno Kaiser spoke concerning his children saying: “We had talked to our children before this and let them know we wanted to adopt someone and bring somebody into our relationship. Our children have been very supportive of this. They have understood,” he said.
One of the most important aspects of being a parent is to raise your children in the “Nurture and Admonition of the Lord”. In one of the greatest examples in the Bible we see the Heavenly Father speaking concerning his servant Abraham and the virtues of raising children in the laws of God.
Genesis 18:19For I know him (Abraham), that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
It is our prayer that those who read this article would consider their ways and refrain from these wicked sexual perversions which are often readily accepted in today’s Satanic world.
With so many stories in the news today reporting the death of children and infants at the hands of abusive and neglectful parents; the story of young Jeremiah Jenkins is both refreshing and heartwarming. 6-year-old Jeremiah was born with a condition that permanently damaged both of his kidneys. At a time in life when most children live in carefree bliss, Jeremiah’s world was comprised of repeated surgeries and long hospital stays. But despite the tribulations that this brave child would face there was always one thing that sustained him, the love of his father!
Psalms Chapter 127:3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Jeremiah Sr. discovered early on that he was a perfect candidate to provide a kidney to his ailing son. Now, after 6 long years, the date for the surgery has been set and young Jeremiah is looking forward to a long, healthy life due to his father’s gift.
“A father will do anything for his child to survive, live and have the best life that they can. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him,” Jeremiah Sr. said.
Psalms Chapter 103:2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Rapper XXXTentacion was brutally murdered on June 18, 2018. XXXTentacion was born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy and he died at the tender age of 20 years old. He was a rising star in the world of hip-hop and an icon among the youth. There are a few versions of the details surrounding his death but they all end with him being shot and slumped over in his car after exiting a motorcycle dealership. It is reported that he was killed for a Louis Vuitton bag and money that he had withdrawn from an ATM.
XXXtentacion had a Number 1 album on the Billboard Charts, several platinum songs, over 270 million streams on Spotify, almost 6 million followers on YouTube and lived in a 1.4 million dollar home. You would think that with such accolades and the resources that come with them he would be immune from the plagues of violence that curse our communities, but he was not. He was gunned down for greed and gain.
The case of this young burgeoning Rapper is not to be taken lightly. From his alleged abusive relationship with his pregnant girlfriend to the fact that his lifeless body was posted on social media moments after his death; XXXTentacion’s life and death shows us how so many ills of this society are affecting our youth. We must do better as a community and nation to repent of the evils we do.
Ecclesiastes 11:9-10Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. (10) Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
Even as young people, we are not to live carefree. The commandments are supposed to guide our every move. The reports of his alleged abuse against his girlfriend are all over the internet. This is not a condemnation of Onfroy but rather a point of consideration for those of us that are alive. We have to repent of our sins before the day of our death and live lives that the Heavenly Father and Christ find worthy. We all have to answer to the Most High in the end whether we are young or old. The above scripture shows that we cannot hide behind our youth; so will we be found worthy?
Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
Deuteronomy 5:21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Deuteronomy 28:65-66 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: (66) And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
Micah 2:8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
The scriptures in Deuteronomy 28 foretold how our lives would hang in doubt meaning we never know when we will die in this violent world. The prophet Micah taught how men would be so wicked that they would rob men for their garments and treat their own people as enemies. We are now living in these prophesied days.
The Heavenly Father’s commandments and Christ’s teachings are here to guide us in a righteous way of living but because we refused to obey we now live under these curses. Thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not covet and thou shalt not kill are all commandments that we must live by. Coveting what someone has without the desire to work to obtain it is a sin that leads to theft and murder. The people that robbed and killed XXXTentacion broke each of these commandments.
Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Even in XXXTentacion’s last moments, what did people do? Instead of helping, they took pictures of his dead body to post to social media. Christ explains in Matthew 24:12 that because sin is increasing in this world, people will become cold and heartless towards each other. What people did after this young man lost his life is a perfect example of “the love of many waxing cold.” Others “waxed cold” saying he got what he deserved because of his past indiscretions. Everyone has access to repentance if they choose it. Each of us should consider our own lives, think about the sins we have committed and repent. We will all die one day but what really matters is how we lived.
1 Timothy 1:9-10 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, (10) For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine…
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
We have to repent now while we are living because once we are gone there is no reconciliation or repenting we can do. Repentance is open to everyone no matter what sins we may have committed. Don’t let youth deceive you. Your last day could be tomorrow. How have you been living?
May the Most High have mercy on Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy’s soul. May we all learn from his tragic passing. We pray this article touches and helps in understanding repentance.
Who would have thought that the birthplace of Christ and the geographical center of biblical history would also be home to one of the biggest gay pride celebrations in the world? Tel Aviv celebrated its 20th Pride Parade and the 10 year anniversary of the Gay Center in the same city. The theme for the Pride Parade this year was “the community makes history.” Tel Aviv has made history as the Gay Capitol of the Middle East with over 250,000 people flocking to it to celebrate and advocate for gay rights. Is this the history the Most High would have his children to make? As servant of the Lord what is our job and purpose?
Jeremiah 31:31-33Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: (32) Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: (33) But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Leviticus 18:22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Isaiah 2:2-3And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. (3) And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
The covenant that the Heavenly Father has made with the children of Israel is repentance. If we repent of our sins through Christ and keep the commandments, the true children of Israel will inherit the land forever. We will no longer be moved and the world will be governed by the law from Israel. Leviticus 18:22 explains that a man is not to have a sexual relationship with a man as he would with a woman. In other words, homosexuality is against the Most High’s commandments. So why is homosexuality being promoted, welcomed and accepted without the teaching of repentance in Israel?
Luke 21:24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
The answer is obvious according to the teachings of Christ. The true children of Israel are not dwelling in the land and will not be there until Christ returns and establishes his government. Christ prophesied about the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD and how the land will be filled with Gentiles. Many of the people in modern-day Israel do not respect the commandments and/or Christ and do not teach and uphold the laws as the previous scriptures said would happen when the true Israelites have returned. When the true children return to the land, sin will not be promoted. There will be no celebration for being gay or any other sin because that is against the commandments. The true children must repent and wait for the return of Christ. Only after his return will we see the Earth established according to the commandments in Christ.
2 Peter 3:11-13Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, (12) Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? (13) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Psalms 119:172My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.
Understanding that this world will not continue with Satan at the helm and that evil will not always be encouraged and celebrated, it is time for the children of Israel to repent and wake up. The children of Israel are scattered to the four corners of the world. It is time for you to wake up and repent no matter where you are. Gay Pride parades in Israel is a definite sign that we are living in the last days and that the Lord has not established his kingdom on Earth yet. Wake up children of Israel.
Romans 13:11-14And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. (12) The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. (13) Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. (14) But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Summer is known for vacation, family fun, good times and beaches but it also has a sinister side. Summer is also the season when predators lurk about to lure, kidnap and force innocent children into sex-trafficking. Atlanta is a major hub for this crime so the FBI decided to conduct a sting in Georgia concentrating on Fulton, Clayton, Dekalb, Gwinnett and Cobb Counties.
During the sting, the FBI managed to rescue 160 children with the youngest victim being 3 years old and make nearly 150 arrests. These are children that were forced to have sex with grown men and/or women. Their youth was taken advantage of and they were raped for the perverse lusts of some and the wicked greed of others. Where are the parents? How does this happen? The scriptures have the answers and understanding.
1 John 5:19And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
Romans 1:25-29Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (26) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: (27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers…
This world is filled with wickedness because men have rejected God’s word. Because men refuse to hear the word of the Lord, they have no restraint and only work to fulfill their own lusts. The Most High called their lusts vile affections, reprobate, unrighteousness, maliciousness and wickedness amongst other things. How else could an adult see an innocent child of three years old and have a sexual desire towards him or her? You must have a reprobate (deparaved, un-principled or wicked) mind to even consider such a vile act. This what men chose because they would not hear the word of the Lord and now we see the results in these last days.
Sex-trafficking of children involves kidnapping, prostitution, covetousness and rape. What do the scriptures say about these sins?
Deuteronomy 24:7If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.
Exodus 21:16And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
Many of the children involved in these sex rings were kidnapped, stolen from their families who wait in anguish until the day they return. Under the old covenant, if a man stole (kidnapped) another man or child, there was only one judgment. Death! This is the way that evil was destroyed from among the children of Israel.
Joel 3:3And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
Leviticus 19:29Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
Deuteronomy 23:17There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
The Most High also gave us commandments against prostitution. We were not to sell or encourage our children to live a life of prostitution. Some of the children in these sex-trafficking rings end up in that terrible situation because their parents put them there. The Most High will punish those parents according to their deeds less they repent.
1 Timothy 6:9-10But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Colossians 3:5-6Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: (6) For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
The pimps that trap these children and sell them for sex serve money as their god. That is why they are willing to sell children and their own souls for money. Their greed and love of money is the source of a great evil in our community.
Deuteronomy 22:25-27But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die: (26) But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter: (27) For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.
Romans 13:1-4 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. (2) Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. (3) For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: (4) For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
A child cannot consent to a sexual relationship. A child cannot choose to be a prostitute. It is rape. In many states there are laws that protect children from adults preying on them. Break the laws of the Most High and/or the land and you will be judged accordingly. The FBI was the sword used in this case to execute judgment upon people that would abuse children to fulfill their lusts.
1 Timothy 1:8-13 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; (9) Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, (10) For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; (11) According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. (12) And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; (13) Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
Romans 12:2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Sex-trafficking and sex with children are sins. These scriptures show us that everyone has access to repentance and Christ died so we can repent of any sin. We must change our way of thinking and submit ourselves to the will of the Most High so we will not e involved in any deed that is contrary to the scriptures.
Lamentations 4:3Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
Job 39:13-17Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich? (14) Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust, (15) And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them. (16) She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear; (17) Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
Lastly, as parents, guardians and caregivers we must do a better job of caring for our youth. In Lamentations 4:3 the scripture compares the daughters of Israel to an ostrich. Job 39:13-17 explains how the mothers lack the proper care of their children and leave them in a world where they can be hurt or killed. When we do not have a care for the bodies of our children, we are behaving like the ostrich but the Most High has not deprived us of wisdom. We need to keep a closer eye on our children, teach them according to the scriptures and provide them with the safe and nurturing environment they will need to survive in this world. When we do not heed the scriptures, our children end up in terrible situations.
We pray for the affected children and that the Lord heals them with his mercy.
This story first surfaced a few years ago, but has gained attention online over the last few months. It is concerning the culture of Christian swinging. Dean Parave decided that he wanted to come to Christ after destroying his life with drugs and alcohol. Along the way, he and his wife Christy got involved with the swinging culture and are now using their platform to “preach” the Gospel to other swingers. In short, he is saying that he is a Christian, yet he and his wife are both engaging in extramarital relations.
According to the Bible, can you be a Christian and be a swinger?
Swinging is Adultery
Christy Parave says that the Bible doesn’t speak on swinging. While the actual word “swinging” or “swinger” isn’t in the Bible, we have to examine the definition of swinging. According to Wikipedia, swinging is defined as non-monogamous behavior in which both singles and partners in a committed relationship engage in sexual activities with others as a recreational or social activity. This lifestyle is also called wife swapping, husband swapping or partner swapping. We must understand that by this definition alone that this lifestyle is adultery.
What is adultery?
Deuteronomy 22:22– If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.
The Most High considers sharing wives, sleeping with other men’s wives, wives sleeping with other people other than her husband as adultery and evil. It doesn’t matter if you give your consent. Adultery is still adultery!
Romans 13:12-13The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantoness, not in strife and envying.
The Apostle Paul is telling us to “walk honestly, as in the day” meaning live according to the Bible righteously. Paul then says not to walk in chambering and wantoness. Chambering is going from house to house to have sexual encounters with people (ex: One Night Stands, fornication, etc.), In ancient times the bedroom was called a chamber, hence the phrase “chambering”. Wantoness is described as lewd, lascivious sexual behavior; lacking restraint.
I Peter 4:1-3– Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
The swinging culture is an unclean, sinful culture, which includes sleeping with multiple partners (adultery), fornication ,homosexuality, wild partying (revelling), and lewdness. If you want to serve the Most High and Christ, you must repent from this lifestyle! Dean Parave rationalized that “if all the swingers are sinners, then the best way to talk to the sinners is to join them.” Christ didn’t join the sinners, he taught them to repent. In John 8 we read an account of a woman caught in the act of adultery. Jesus did not reprove her by joining in her sin, he instead instructed the woman to sin no more.
2 Corinthians 6:17– Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Christ wants us to separate from lewd sinful behavior and be an example to others on how to live. Don’t follow the crowd to do evil by committing fornication (swinging). Follow the Most High and keep his commandments!
1 Corinthians 6:18– Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
The swinging lifestyle is adultery and fornication, and they that commit it will be sinning against their own body, meaning you are defiling and dishonoring yourself. Therefore, to those who are currently practicing this lifestyle, you are encouraged to repent and truly come to Christ. This means you mind has to be cleansed by the Word and you have to stop doing the act. We hope that you repent and leave that life alone before the Most High casts judgment upon you.
